Banning and Suspension
Our Philosophy
YouNow is committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive community.
YouNow uses a combination of automated systems and manual monitoring to maintain a safe community on YouNow. Guided by our Community Standards & Site Rules and Terms of Service, we continuously review YouNow broadcasts to warn, suspend, or ban any users who violate our policies.
To protect the integrity of the community, as the provider of the service, YouNow reserves the right to suspend or remove any account at any time for any conduct that is determined to be inappropriate or harmful.
Please visit https://www.younow.com/policy/en/rules for the latest updates on YouNow Community Rules & Guidelines.
Banning Policies on YouNow
Our moderation team is hard at work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, taking action against users who violate our Terms and/or Site Rules. Moderators have the ability to ban and suspend users who have broken YouNow rules, and are responsible for investigating flags and reports. We take the trust & safety of our users very seriously and want to ensure that every user feels safe on our platform.
Users who violateYouNow’s Rules & Community Guidelines may be subject to account banning. Being banned means that your account is permanently restricted from participating on the YouNow platform. You will not be able to broadcast, chat, give gifts or post on user’s profiles.
If you would like to dispute a ban, please file a ticket here. Please note that it can take up to 72 hours for a response.
Suspension Policies on YouNow
If you receive a notification on screen that states that you are suspended, you are temporarily restricted from participating on the YouNow platform. You will not be able to broadcast, chat, give gifts, or post on profiles as a result of a violation of YouNow’s Rules & Community Guidelines. Depending on the offense, a suspension can last anywhere from 15 minutes to 48 hours.
If you are a Partner or Producer, you will be removed from any leaderboards for the month in which you are banned or suspended for more than 48 hours. As a Partner, your likes count will be reduced to zero for the remainder of the month and you will not be eligible for the Top Broadcasters leaderboard or the associated rewards. You will still receive payment and will earn Partner Stars as usual. As a Producer, you will not be eligible for the Top Fans leaderboard or the associated rewards. You will still earn Producer Crowns as usual.
What is the difference between a ban and a suspension?
Bans and suspensions both restrict users from participating on the YouNow platform. They will not be able to broadcast, chat, give gifts, or post on profiles.
The difference between a suspension and ban is that suspensions are temporary (lasting between 15 minutes and two weeks depending upon the offense) while bans are permanent.
